Hey, y'all. So... I know there's a lot goin' on in the world right now with trans rights, the Palestinian genocide, people bein' attacked for bein' who they are and it's really disturbing. I'm obv very pro-trans rights, bein' that I'm transmasc, and don't condone any kind of attacks on a people for race, color, religion, orientation, or gender. At all. But I'm not gonna post much about that right now, only because I had to put down Graham Cracker, my beloved Guinea Pig that I also considered transmasc, just a couple days ago. Graham had a cyst/tumor that ruptured and there wasn't anything they could've done. I miss him dearly and have been tryin' to comfort Bubby as much as possible (my other Guinea), and just stayin' offline a bit.
Also, today is my kid's birthday so we're goin' to Portland to celebrate them and try to shift focus for a few while my mom stays with Bubs and keeps her company. My kid's also had an online friend of theirs visiting from out of state who will be in town through Sunday evening and flying back on Monday.
All that bein' said... things have been pretty chaotic, but... I just want everyone to know that while I may not be all that active on here as of late, this blog is a safe space and will always be a safe space for all walks of life. I love all y'all. Take care and stay safe, my budlits. <333

#im about to snap about my job#people keep pushing shit on me without as much as asking me first so im fully taken off guard by these new responsibilities im being given#and im pretty sure my temporary supervisor is subtly homophobic and/or transphobic and/or possibly racist#cos she keeps misgendering me on top of listing these new policies she wants to enact that seem pretty bigoted (from a minority perspective)#like she wants our offices to be decently plain#meaning she will likely want me to remove my rainbow flags and the numerous reminders of my pronouns and that its a safe space#as well as my coworkers blm flag and girl power painting#she even wants us to dress professionally all the time (which is not possible for my disabled ass)#and that comment came about after i noticed her looking closely at my sylvia rivera 'we have to be visible' pride shirt#not to mention she made a big deal today about me asking our clients for their pronouns on our client forms#its ridiculous especially after all the horrible shit i went through with my past supervisor and coworker#im planning on emailing her first thing tomorrow morning about the misgendering so we will see how that goes#on a happier note my girlfriend and i played escape from the aliens in outer space (one of the board games we bought yesterday) tonight#and it was lots of fun#anyway i like this prompt a lot because it subverts the ideas we tend to hold of 'funerals'#at least from the perspective of someone raised in an american christian household#i like the idea of a 'funeral' being a genuine celebration of someones life#and the colour 'yellow' feels very celebratory to me#so i think thats the direction im going to go with this prompt#thanks for reading#writing#writer#creative writing#writing prompt#writeblr#trying to be a writeblr at least

Digital Citizenship; Positive or Negative? Or Both?
Digital Citizenship explores the ways people interact online. Users have the freedom to participate in a conversation and share their opinions, as a form of “civic engagement (Tapingkae et. al, 2020), which can be seen as both a positive and negative concept. However, in this particular instance, digital citizenship concerns the behaviour of users online that may create a harassing and disrespectful space (Tapingkae et. al, 2020), which, ultimately, can cause the demobilisation of people (Theocharis et. al, 2023).
Researchers argue that digital citizenship should be addressed and taught in an educational setting so that young people in the community are aware of their “rights and responsibilities” with what they put online, which should construct an understanding of the digital footprint (Choi & Cristol, 2021). Digital footprint refers to the “digital traces” (Weaver, S. D., & Gahegan, M., 2007) that people leave online; their actions, their comments, their posts, their shares etc, which ultimately leads to the idea of digital citizenship. It is crucial for all users of the Internet to be aware of their capabilities and ensure to not post, share, like or comment on any harmful or derogatory content, because it may come to affect them at a later time.
Through social media platforms, and digital citizenship, users are given the ability to utilise their agency and influence online participation. Electoral campaigns, protest events, volunteer groups and the promotion of inclusivity are formed, which creates community groups and safe spaces (Theocharis, 2023). During 2020, with the rise of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement, groups and individuals were able to “effectively” share and “enhance” their messages and experiences, which created an understanding of how digital citizenship marginalises and oppresses certain communities and people (Choi, M., & Cristol, D., 2021).
Through digital citizenship, users are able to understand and recognise “discipline” (Choi, M., & Cristol, D., 2021), which allows for a safe and ethical space online, which ultimately generates a unified community.

hi, since you asked genuine questions here's a few explanations:
on oct 7th, hamas broke into israel and murdered, tortured, raped, and kidnapped over a thousand people. it wasn't just a little event. it was the largest slaughter of jews since the holocaust. and it wasn't just jews that were killed, it was arab israelis and bedouins. if you want to learn more, I recommend watching "screams before silence" it's free on youtube BUT huge trigger warning for graphic descriptions of rape and torture. there aren't actual pictures/videos of the rapes in the documentary but there are many eyewitnesses and victims who share their stories.
https://www.screamsbeforesilence.com/
secondly, the term "zionism" doesn't mean what most non-jews think it means. it is a movement started by and for jews, and it is the belief that jews should have a nation in their ancestral homeland (israel). it doesn't mean that all palestinians should die, it doesn't mean that israel needs to solely be jewish (ethnostate). israel is extremely diverse with many different religions and ethnicities, it just has over 50% jews making it a jewish state in the same way that most countries are christian or muslim etc.
gaza, in contrast, has 0 jews since 2005 when israel left gaza.
hamas is a terrorist organization and has a very strict "education" system mostly consisting of teaching children how to become martyrs and shoot guns. palestinians learn from birth to hate jews and israel. hamas's entire ideology is built on jew hatred. for that reason, it is extremely hard to get a ceasefire because hamas keeps rejecting it. bibi netanyahu, who I don't personally like, has agreed to most ceasefire deals, but hamas hasn't. that's why the war is still going on. and let's not forget, hamas still holds many israeli hostages captive.
the reason jews don't feel safe in queer spaces is because currently leftist queers do not acknowledge these facts. they create "anti-zionist spaces" on campuses and in their own communities. 90% of jews are zionists, so when you're anti-zionist, you are inherently antisemitic. anti-zionists have vandalized synagogues, attacked synagogues, raped jews "for justice in palestine", stabbed random jews, and worse. people shout "globalize the intifada" which really just means "globalize genocide of jews".
the fact that so many queer people refuse to believe us when we say we are in danger, say we deserve it even, is why jews don't feel safe in queer spaces. most of us are fine with a state of palestine, but we don't want hamas as their leader because they are a terrorist organization with a goal of killing jews. jews have been a part of so many liberal movements (a black jew founded blm, many jews stood up for gays during the aids crisis, etc) and are still rejected because of backwards misinformation. our problem isn't with palestine or palestinians, our problem is with ignorance and hate that so many leftist spaces are now full of.
if you want to help jews feel safe in queer spaces, acknowledge their pain, acknowledge that hamas is bad, listen to jews when they talk about this conflict. so many queer and leftist ppl treat this conflict like a fandom, it's crazy and disgusting. most of them only learned about this conflict through social media a year ago. listen to jews and don't exclude us from your spaces just because you are too arrogant to look at the other side. that's literally all we're asking.
some instances of anti-zionism being violent and antisemitic:
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-67145473
https://www.france24.com/en/france/20240619-french-teens-charged-with-anti-semitic-rape-in-attack-condemned-by-political-leaders
https://www.jns.org/anti-zionism-is-just-antisemitism-misspelled/
https://www.axios.com/2024/01/10/antisemitic-incidents-hamas-israel-attack-2023-adl
thank you for asking, and thank you for reading.
Thank you for the answers. I was worried people were going to call me ignorant, which I admit I am up until now, and is exactly why I want to learn more about something I never really looked into more deeply because of the various opinions on all sides making it hard to decypher anything objective. It's hard to believe how terribly queer spaces are treating jewish people. Which is not to say I don't believe you. Quite the opposite. I am just shocked. Thank you again

heyyy, somehow gained many new followers recently. thank you very much for enjoying my work! in light of that, let's do a small introduction.
i'm Seosamh Dáire, or you can call me joe. he/him • sé/é only. transsexual butch man and leatherdyke ✦ fear tras/aiteach agus gearrán 🐗
i'm a painter, comic author-illustrator, web/html artist, petty designer, smalltime archivist, passionate marxist. i like anime and virtual pets both from ~1990. as someone working primarily with past decades, i'm interested in broadening our ideas of time/place and who was in it. pro-palestine, native rights and strong proponent/student of irish-native solidarity, blm, roma, the works (uninterested in debating these topics!)
i make trans gay art for perverts and i was recently an artist in residence in the Burren, focusing on traditional paintings and reflecting/writing on being Queer In The Land.
SUPERPOSE: the tremendous dark trans sci-fi comic i make with my life+work partner Anka @kingfisher-cove . take a look! this project is my whole LIFE, and almost every piece i make pertains to it, so if you're unsure of who or what my images are of, that's a safe bet. the comic is recommended for mature readers. here's a brief synopsis,
An ongoing queer sci-fi horror comic about physics.
On the Atlantic coast, in a town called PORT CITY— “a place out of time”
While a tourist destination boasting a popular beach and boardwalk, Port City is also home to ROMAN LABS, an aerospace-turned-tech company now floundering in the tech boom.
Rafael and Royal are each listless in their own lives as longtime locals with little mobility, whose orbits have only occasionally overlapped, until now. Turning a job at the lab into a last-ditch effort for a glimpse of a more equitable future brings Royal and Rafael together, and beaches Kas, a young physicist, on Port City’s shores.
Together they seize the opportunity to alter their future and carve out a place in time for themselves, finally shaking the town and their lives from standstill. Changing history begins with the machine.
(also a supplementary web art/ARG aspect, using flat digital spaces to create a sense of 3d depth and narrative.)
SUPERPOSEBLOG @superposeblog is the repository for all updates and news about the comic.
198X.LOVE our homepage & portfolio
PATREON is where i share most of my work first, early comic pages, WIP, process and thoughts and other resources. it's a direct way to support mine & my partner's work. we are an independent team of two and i'm sure you can appreciate the effort and dedication to managing our practise as well as life obligations. for one-time support, there's also ko-fi. thank you!
i've also begun a new, as of yet unnamed 18+ comic about trans disposability/sapped as a resource + weird blood + nuclear war. so look out for that next year 😘

Week 3 Blog 9/12
How do algorithms correlate to anti-black racism?
As discussed in Nicole Brown’s “Race and Technology” Youtube video, predictive policing technology has been used in the past decade to create strategic “hit-lists” to predict who would be most likely to commit or be involved with violent crimes in the area. These innocent civilians and children with no criminal past were on high surveillance in real life, as well as their data. Anything put into their algorithms would count as incriminating evidence. Sociologist Simone Brown’s book “Dark Matters” is briefly summarized through the video. It is noteworthy to acknowledge the racial and Black surveillance themes. As technologies continue to use bias and objectification against Black communities society must create and advocate for safe and inclusive spaces within the virtual world.
How has social media proven to encourage social justice and hate at the same time?
What immediately comes to my head is the BLM movement during 2020. After the unjust arrest and murder of George Floyd, uprisings in Black communities led to protests being broadcasted. With every scroll through social media and flip through news channels we were seemingly seeing the same content with different headlines and reactions. If we circle back, the death of George Floyd itself was unfortunately a trending topic with everyone’s biased opinions rather than a call of action for an act of abuse of power. Things such as his past criminal record were brought up through the media to justify what had happened to him, others used plain excuses such as his race. The Black Lives Matter movement had already gained traction years prior due to another murder of a young Black man. Black communities weren’t feeling heard or supported and the BLM movement was once again brought to headlines to advocate for Black voices and consequences to the police force. Now as this progressed and protests made way, lootings, attacks on protests, and curfews were put into place in many areas across the country. Depending on your algorithm you probably saw an array of discourse about the matter, so much so that it had taken away from the point of what was being advocated for in the first place. WIth the freedom of speech we have the right to voice our opinions on these heavy topics surrounding social justice, but society should practice proper and respectful netiquette so we use our voices with purpose.
How much does the healthcare system really depend on technology and how are people of color affected by this?
As society progresses, so do the systems within such as healthcare. Hospitals are actually quite dependent on technology as it is now considered an essential. Some technological advancements used in the healthcare system include data and analytics, diagnostic tools, telemedicine, and electronic health records. All sounds great so how would these pose as issues to people of color? With Electronic Health Records, hospitals are able to transfer patient data for improved treatment and coordination but when it comes to patients in areas with limited digital resources they are left with outdated medical treatment. “Racial bias in a medical algorithm favors white patients over sicker black patients” headlines The Washington Post as seen on Nicole Brown’s “Race and Technology” Youtube video. So yes, the use of data, algorithms, and technology has been proven to create a progressive era for healthcare and its patients, but we as a society must be aware of how this affects minority communities due to embedded bias and properly advocate for change.
Is AI ruining the future of students?
As students are distanced from pencils and paper and moved onto digital spaces, there is a lack of creativity and critical thinking within the entire generation of students. Students are able to use Grammarly and ChatGPT to write papers. Students are able to use Photomath and Mathway to complete math problems. Students are limited to a keyboard and screen for discussions and are missing raw interactions and conversations. This is a danger to the future workforce as many students are cheating their way through schooling and depending on hands on experience without book knowledge and human networking. Many are afraid of AI becoming the future of everything and that can only happen if we continue this co-dependent relationship with it.
